Six Hyundai Models Earn High Marks in IIHS Crash Testing
Our customers know how safe Hyundai’s vehicles are. Every day, they are confident that their vehicle will save them from a collision anywhere in Southern Minnesota – even from an embarrassing slide off of an icy road.
It comes as no surprise that six Hyundai models earned high marks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for 2021. One of these models earned the highest rating as a 2021 Top Safety Pick Plus award winner.
This year’s IIHS award winners are:
Hyundai Palisade – Top Safety Pick Plus
Hyundai Veloster with optional front crash prevention and specific headlights – Top Safety Pick
Hyundai Sonata with specific headlights – Top Safety Pick
Hyundai Kona with optional front crash prevention and specific headlights – Top Safety Pick
Hyundai Tucson with optional front crash prevention and specific headlights – Top Safety Pick
Hyundai Venue with specific headlights – Top Safety Pick
In addition, Hyundai has several new and significantly enhanced models launching later this year that IIHS has yet to test.
These IIHS awards require “Good” ratings in all six IIHS crashworthiness tests — driver- and passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints. Award winners must be available with front crash prevention technology that earns a “Superior” or “Advanced” rating in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations. TOP SAFETY PICK winners must also be available with “Good” or “Acceptable” headlights. The “plus” designation is given to models that have “Good” or “Acceptable” headlights across all trim levels and packages.
