There were many reasons why the 2021 Hyundai Elantra won the North American Car of The Year award. One of them was the advanced interior that put this great sedan in a class of one.
That interior was recognized by Autotrader.com as they named the new Elantra one of their 10 Best Car Interiors Under $50,000 for 2021.
To help everyday consumers emphasize the importance of a vehicle’s interior when shopping for a new car, the experts at Autotrader recently created this list.
What the experts found was an interior that is advanced in technology and overall design. In up trim models, you have a fully digital 10.25-inch instrument cluster that changes with the push of the drive mode button. You also get to customize the information screen in-between the two larger dials.
The cockpit is driver focused, with all controls within easy reach of you. A new shorter shifter instills more control of your Elantra, while every button offers immediate action and tactile response. A four-spoke steering wheel is not only different, but it also encourages you to drive every time you get behind the wheel of an Elantra – any Elantra.
More importantly, you have real space for adults. The comfortable and supportive front seats offer plenty of travel and adjustment. Rear seat passengers are treated to generous legroom and comfort for short and long journeys.
In all, the Hyundai Elantra has the most advanced and best-designed interior in its class. All starting with a great price. Contact us at Hyundai of Mankato to experience an award-winning car to take home today!

The Hyundai Kona broke the mold among small SUVs. As a result, it was duly awarded the North American Utility of The Year in 2019.
It was time for the award-winning Kona to receive an update designed to bring more excitement to one of South Central Minnesota’s favorite small SUVs.
Coming this spring, the 2022 Hyundai Kona will receive more than just a prettier face. Although, the exterior updates actually give the Kona a more contemporary look overall for the new model year. The front clip is rounder and the grille was widened to match the look of the recently revised Santa Fe. New wheel designs will handsomely add more attraction to the updated look of the 2022 Kona.
What are the changes
New for 2022 is the addition of the Kona N Line model. In response to customers who wanted a sportier Kona, the N Line adds sportier details, such as contrast stitching on the seats, a thicker-rim steering wheel, and aerodynamic additions to the exterior. It will be powered by our 195-horsepower 1.6-liter turbocharged engine, combined with a seven-speed EcoShift dual-clutch transmission.
The Kona receives an upgrade in technology with the addition of wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto with the standard 8-inch display audio screen. Specific models will receive a larger 10.25-inch screen with navigation and smartphone integration. You can perform hands-free commands through the Dynamic Voice Recognition, including getting directions through BlueLink.
Safety also gets an upgrade with additional features new to the Kona. These features include Smart Cruise Control, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Highway Drive Assist. An electronic parking brake is added to a newly redesigned center console for more space to put your smartphone stowed away easily.
The newly updated 2022 Kona should arrive at Hyundai of Mankato later this spring. Contact us to experience this updated award-winning small SUV.
When the editors at Car and Driver select a vehicle as a favorite of theirs, it comes with substantial credentials. It is a vote of confidence that tells the world that it is a great vehicle for both the consumer and the enthusiast.
This year, Car and Driver chose SIX Hyundai models for this year’s Editors’ Choice list. These models are Hyundai Accent, Elantra, Kona, Sonata, Palisade, and Veloster N. These Hyundai models join the prestigious list out of more than 400 cars, trucks, crossovers, and SUVs that Car and Driver editors test, rate, and rank in each of 32 market segments.
Car and Driver conducts rigorous instrumented testing on hundreds of vehicles each year. Those results are but one element considered for earning a spot on the Editors’ Choice list. The other criteria used to choose the vehicles for the Editors’ Choice list includes the rankings each vehicle earns within its market segment and editors’ subjective evaluations of each vehicle’s performance, value, and how well it fulfils its intended mission.
Each vehicle Car and Driver tests is ultimately given a rank in its market segment versus its competitors. That rank can be found on each vehicle’s 2021 make-model page under the heading “Where This Vehicle Ranks.”
As a result, Hyundai demonstrated how well these vehicles stand up to these rigorous tests. They are also designed and engineered to pass the most important test of them all – yours.
Contact us at Hyundai of Mankato to experience these highly touted models for yourself. They should be on your list to take home today!
You want the best value possible for your money. Once you crunch the numbers, you will find the right vehicle that fits your budget and your lifestyle at the same time. Cars.com actually has done the math for you. This is why they named the Hyundai Venue their Best Value of 2021 award.
Cars.com’s editorial team of automotive experts performs more than 100 in-depth reviews of new vehicles each year in addition to producing thousands of articles for car shoppers to navigate the purchase process. Each car represented on the “Best Of” awards list excels in three key criteria: quality, innovation, and value.
With the Venue, the math is quite simple. Starting at $18,750, you get a lot more for the money. At that price, you get standard features, such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Keeping Assist with Driver Attention Warning.
In these tough times, you want to drive a better value when you’re trying to save money at the grocery store. With gas prices rising across South Central Minnesota, your wallet can use some relief. The Venue can return an EPA-estimated 33 MPG on the highway. The 11.9 gallon fuel tank is also friendly to the wallet, as well.
While at the grocery store, you will appreciate the 18.7 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. That’s more than enough space for a week or more of food for the family.
The Hyundai Venue is all about value and keeping things affordable for you and your lifestyle. Contact us at Hyundai of Mankato to experience how far your wallet can go in a new Hyundai Venue.
Our customers know how safe Hyundai’s vehicles are. Every day, they are confident that their vehicle will save them from a collision anywhere in Southern Minnesota – even from an embarrassing slide off of an icy road.
It comes as no surprise that six Hyundai models earned high marks from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for 2021. One of these models earned the highest rating as a 2021 Top Safety Pick Plus award winner.
This year’s IIHS award winners are:
Hyundai Palisade – Top Safety Pick Plus
Hyundai Veloster with optional front crash prevention and specific headlights – Top Safety Pick
Hyundai Sonata with specific headlights – Top Safety Pick
Hyundai Kona with optional front crash prevention and specific headlights – Top Safety Pick
Hyundai Tucson with optional front crash prevention and specific headlights – Top Safety Pick
Hyundai Venue with specific headlights – Top Safety Pick
In addition, Hyundai has several new and significantly enhanced models launching later this year that IIHS has yet to test.
These IIHS awards require “Good” ratings in all six IIHS crashworthiness tests — driver- and passenger-side small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraints. Award winners must be available with front crash prevention technology that earns a “Superior” or “Advanced” rating in both vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-pedestrian evaluations. TOP SAFETY PICK winners must also be available with “Good” or “Acceptable” headlights. The “plus” designation is given to models that have “Good” or “Acceptable” headlights across all trim levels and packages.
Hyundai of Mankato is proud to offer these proven and tested vehicles with the latest safety technology and engineering that is right for you and your family. Contact us today and experience one!
Did you know that the upcoming 2022 Hyundai Tucson will be produced here in the U.S.A.?
Arriving soon to Hyundai of Mankato is the exciting new 2022 Tucson. Right now, they are inching their way from the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama plant in Montgomery. Each one will have the latest design and technology that will put this great SUV ahead of the competition.
The most significant part of the new 2022 Tucson is that its production will mark the first time our best-selling SUV will be assembled in this country. The Tucson will join the Sonata, Elantra, and Santa Fe in this advanced facility increasing the number of vehicles assembled and sold in the U.S.A.
This was made possible with a major expansion of the Montgomery facility to accommodate the increased production capacity. This also fulfills Hyundai’s commitment to domestic production in this country, while marking 35 years since the brand’s arrival in the U.S.A.
Its advanced design offers sharp lines and advanced lighting signatures designed for both aesthetic and safety purposes. The interior will be the most advanced in its class, offering more space than ever before, along with a higher level of technology and user-friendly controls.
This will also be the first Tucson to be offered with both a hybrid driveline and a plug-in hybrid. Both drivelines will feature a turbocharged gasoline engine combined with a powerful electric motor. Also, a sporty N Line model will be added to the Tucson lineup in the near furture. Most importantly, all-wheel-drive will be offered with all engines and drivelines in the 2022 Tucson.
Hyundai of Mankato is expecting our first 2022 Tucsons this spring. Contact us to experience this exciting new model when it arrives here. Don’t forget, we have plenty of new 2021 Tucsons available to take home today!
