Hyundai Motor Group Breaks Ground at US EV and Battery Plant
Earlier this week, the Hyundai Motor Group was proud to break ground at their brand new manufacturing plant dedicated to electronic vehicles and batteries. With the goal of becoming a global leader in electric vehicles, the motor group plans to begin production for Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis electric vehicles and batteries at its new Georgia manufacturing plant.
Ushering in an Electric Future
Governor Bryan Kemp attended the groundbreaking ceremony, marking a partnership between the state of Georgia and the auto manufacturing group. He commented on their unified goal of a sustainable future, creating jobs and sustaining the local economy at the same time. By bringing EV and battery production to the US, Hyundai Motor Group Megaplant America brings 8,100 jobs to the area over the next few years. As more automakers and communities aim to go all-electric, Hyundai Motor Group plans to be at the forefront of US production and innovation for the foreseeable future.
Hundai Motor Group’s plant, backed by a $5.54 billion investment, is part of its long-term vision for the present and future. Their goal is to produce and sell 3.23 million all-electric vehicles within the next decade, engineering new solutions and technologies along the way. The plant is Georgia is only the first step to embrace the US government’s announcement for 50% of all new vehicles to be emission-free by 2030. Locals from the community attended a future technology expo after the groundbreaking, demonstrating the plant’s achievements and capabilities.
High-tech innovation isn’t just limited to the vehicles. The plant itself is designed with the goal of being an intelligent manufacturing plant, seamlessly integrating artificial intelligence into every step of the process. Robots and AI are meant to assist human workers as they produce, assemble, and complete each vehicle. On top of creating eco-friendly vehicles, the plant will also be powered by renewable resources to reduce emissions, along with donating to local social responsibility programs. Hyundai Motor Group plans to expand its manufacturing facilities in the future to achieve their goals of an all-electric future.
