Hyundai Tops the List of 2022 Best Cars for the Money
Industry lists are released every year to assist with purchasing your next vehicle. This year, one of those lists, the 2022 Best Cars for the Money by U.S. News and World Report, was dominated by Hyundai models. From compact sedans to full-sized crossovers, the Hyundai lineup garnered more mentions on this list than any other manufacturer.
Cost is, of course, not the end all when you are looking for a new car, but it is definitely important. When considering additions to the Best Cars for the Money list, U.S. News considers several different factors. First, they look at the actual cost of buying the vehicle, including taxes and the actual cost of the car. Then, they consider the cost of owning the vehicle over a total of five years.
The report factors in anticipated repairs, general maintenance, and upkeep over the course of five years, thus contributing to the actual “value” of the vehicle. Hyundai had no problem sweeping several categories when using this equation.
Three different models of Hyundai SUVs topped this list. The 2022 Santa Fe was awarded the Best 2-Row SUV, the 2022 Kona clinched the Best Subcompact SUV, and the 2022 Tucson got the best Compact SUV. For years, Hyundai has been attracting customers with its superior warranty and vehicle manufacturing, while still offering stellar value.
Not only are Hyundai SUVs a tremendous value, but two of the hybrid models of Hyundai vehicles have also been added to the Best Cars for the Money list. The 2022 Hyundai Elantra Hybrid was named Best Hybrid and Electric Car for the Money and the 2022 Tucson Hybrid was called the Hybrid and Electric SUV for the money.
Hyundai vehicles have been known for their impeccable quality and cost-effectiveness, so the recognition from U.S. News and World Report is well-deserved.
