Three Hyundai Vehicles Named 2024 Best Cars for the Money by U.S. News & World Report

Hyundai of Mankato is proud to inform you that three Hyundai models were named by the U.S. News & World Report to be the best cars for the money. The publication states from the outset that while it is tempting to seek the lowest price when looking at new cars, “…the best deal isn’t always going to be the car with the lowest purchase price.” They state that a new car should be enjoyable to own and have the latest in safety and driver assistance technologies, sufficient power for your daily commute, and enough room for passengers to be comfortable. “The Best Cars for the Money awards find the balance between cars that focus on an excellent ownership experience and cars that prioritize value.”
The Winners
With this criteria in mind, out of a total of eleven models, each representing a different category, three of the models named were Hyundais. These three models are:
- Hyundai IONIQ 5 – Best EV for the Money
- Hyundai Elantra Hybrid – Best Hybrid Car for the Money
- Hyundai Tucson – Best Compact SUV for the Money
All of these models represent important categories. The IONIQ 5 winning its category is particularly important as it represents the highest value in a new category many people will be considering for the first time. Tucson’s win has the SUV beating out the competition in the country’s best-selling and most competitive segment. As both a compact car and a hybrid, the Elantra Hybrid represents the epitome of low entry and operating costs.
“With Best Cars for the Money wins in three unique categories, Hyundai has demonstrated that it delivers great vehicles that are strong values,” said Jim Sharifi, managing editor of U.S. News Best Cars. “The Elantra Hybrid, IONIQ 5, and Tucson stand out among the competition as cars that provide a rewarding ownership experience and low ownership costs.”
Determining Quality
U.S. News Best Car rankings are not based only on the opinions of their editors. Instead, they analyze every published, credible review of a given model “to get the consensus opinion of the automotive press on things like how well a car drives, how comfortable its interior is and how well its connectivity and tech features work.” They also factor in the hard data on fuel economy, cargo space, and safety and reliability.
Determining Value
The publication turned to Vincentric, a research firm known for its automotive cost analysis to determine a vehicle’s five-year ownership costs. They also turned to True Car to get real-time transaction prices.
As a result, the Best Car for the Money winners were determined not just by one publication alone but by content from a wide variety of expert sources.
“Having three vehicles recognized with Best Cars for the Money awards by U.S. News & World Report is a testament to the thoughtful engineering our vehicles offer,” said Ricky Lao, Director, Product Planning, Hyundai Motor North America. “Our product line-up delivers a compelling blend of innovative design, efficiency, and sharp driving dynamics, combined with surprise and delight features.”
These and all other Hyundai models are designed to represent value both at the dealership and across many years of ownership. Whether it is an SUV, sedan, hatch, or EV you are looking for, you will want to shop all Hyundai has to offer in high-value models at Hyundai of Makato.
